Happy New Year! So goodbye to 2018, the year I grieved for my father in law and learnt to cope with loss of my best friends baby. It was also the year I found out who I could trust and who to keep close. In bereavement you truly learn who are the friends that really care for you and will be there for you throughout any life event. No texts to say 'How are you?' no inviting you anywhere to come for a coffee or some time away from your own thoughts. No keeping you in the loop with what's going on in their lives, just not speaking for fear of upset. Well, if you are not in it for the long run, through thick and thin with me you are no longer with me. Is it age that has made me brutal with friends or is it that I know enough pain to see when something is going to hurt me further?
